OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR HIDING FROM COMFORT.
“This is all I have been working on, This is the best I can do right now.” Mitchell Rawlins.
Now we are getting somewhere. Whatever it takes to get the shot. I’m never doing this again. I’m over it. This better work. Are you kidding me. Are you serious. I’m never doing this again. That was all time. F##king clouds piss off. No rest for the wicked. There was plenty of this kind of talk while making “Hiding From Comfort”. Now it all seems worth it & we are nearing the end of filming and getting ready to release the film in the coming months.
What everyone is saying about the film:
“From the opening scene it’s clear, Mitch and his team have set a new benchmark for all to aspire to with Hiding from Comfort. Good Luck getting anywhere close”. Phil Gallagher, Le Boogie magazine
“What do you get when you combine a constant keenness for creativity, a penchant for perfection and one of the best bodyboarders to ever slide the foam? A film that may just surpass all your conceivable expectations of what’s possible on a bodyboard. From what I’ve seen so far, Hiding From Comfort is set to be not only a film that you’ll want to watch over and over, but a true representation of where bodyboarding’s at in 2010. Rocky’s got all the angles covered, from unrivalled HD and film footage, to next level wave riding and mind-blowing board cam clips. He’s one hard working young man, so prepare to be blown away people”. Nick Lawrence, longest serving Riptide editor.
“Not only will this be the most amazing film for the sport, It’s focused on the worlds most talented bodyboarder. Straight to the top shelf! ” – Kiryn Clay, IBA Australasia.
“This is Mitch and his surfing the way he sees it and I think it takes it up a notch or two from what’s be done in the past”. James Wise, Filmer
” When I heard Mitch’s plans for this project I thought he was kidding himself then over the past few years the ideas have become reality & the end result is a film that will hopefully change the way people see bodyboarding.” Tom Hannam, filmer/editor
“Hot damn! Just when you thought the anticipation for Mitch’s vid couldn’t get any more feverish, he releases this trailer for Hiding From Comfort and sends us into an absolute frenzy. Amazing work Mitch, congrats!” Tim Leeson, Riptide Editor
“It’s inspiring to see Rocky put his heart, soul and wallet into really showcasing this thing that we all do. I’m amped.” Pete Moore, Editor Movement Magazine.

I am excited to put this movie up as it is my first attempt at giving editing a go. The footage is quite old however, there is some cool shots in there that James Wise and I have collected from our travels and learning how to use film camera’s at the same time. so the results have varied in quality but like all venture’s worth achieving you have to be persistent and learn the tricks of the trade just like James has achieved with his filming now and as you will see with our upcoming film to be released this year with great results and what i am aiming to learn a new skill in editing..
Concentrating from Sydney to Hawaii on my first editing attempt. Hope you enjoy & let me know what you think of it! Mitch!

Hey guys, I’m Miller and I’ve come down south from Perth and have spent the last week working with Mitch, Tom and James, as an apprentice- holding microphones and lugging HVX200s across the scorching sands of smiths beach. A few words that can be used to sum up my stay here include: boredom, malnutrition and fun times.
When I first arrived I discovered that the Wise residence has absolutely no food. I spent the night alone- Mitch and Tom weren’t back from their travels and James had work to attend. After scanning the room’s many digital appliances to cure my boredom, I discovered copies of ‘THRASH’, ‘FLUX’ and a DVD player. I spent the night watching the DVDs on repeat. Luckily I packed mi goreng, as the fridge had nothing but baby octopus and SPC fruit things. No butter, no bread. I later ended up purchasing numerous packs of tiny teddys to satisfy my hunger. Mitch and Tom arrived and we spent a few days filming, becoming familiar with the heavy piece of machinery I had to operate.
Highlights of my stay include listening to the squabbles regarding Sam Burgess (a recruited English rugby league player) and whether its ‘Backshaw’ or ‘Backshall’ (I debated the latter option). Going to the terrible, but fun, Dunsborough skatepark lead to many good times, as we braved the heat, sand and thrashed boards. I taught Mitch how to kickflip, and was honestly impressed with his half pipe feeble stalls.
Anyway, today I go home- a five hour bus trip with broken headphones.
Looking forward to my next stay, yew.

What to Expect

This is what I love most about our sport, it’s the ability to have the room to create whatever you want. Lately we have been working on 3 different films. (Artwork and trailers to be released soon) We have a great little team with myself, James Wise and Tom Hannam all working together; it’s an exciting time for us. We are looking forward to many days filming and editing, so we can bring you a film that will get you amped to get back in the water. That’s what it’s all about ladies and gentleman getting amped to go surfing.
